Bengoetxe is the only winery from the Denomination of Origin Getaria Txakolina that produces organic txakoli without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Produced from native Basque grape Hondarribi Zuri with a touch of Gros Manseng, Bengoetxe’s Txakoli is fermented with native yeasts in 3,000 liter steel vats and then raised on the lees over the winter. It is bottled unfined, unfiltered, with minimal SO2 and without captured CO2. It shows lush lemony fruit, notes of grains, smoke, petrol, and chamomile.
